Starting release 4.1, SamePage introduces the concept of "multi-tenancy" for enterprise wiki deployments. The same capability & power of multi-tenancy that allows the On-Demand instance of SamePage to cater to thousands of hosted customers can now be leveraged by large On-Premise deployments.
- Horizontal ScalabilityMulti-tenancy dramatically increases the flexibility and efficiency of the enterprise wiki infrastructure helping organizations to scale horizontally. Customers running "multi-tenanted" SamePage instance can offer fully independent, secure domains or partitions to every "tenant" - each domain, in turn, capable of hosting hundreds of wikis and thousands of users.
- Unlimited Private DomainsEvery Department, Division or Business Unit within a large enterprise can have its own private, secure domain that can be separately branded and customized. Domain administrators can manage the wikis and users within their domain. For example, http://sales.acme.com and http://engineering.acme.com could be two completely independent domains that are served by the same instance of SamePage.
- Streamlined InfrastructureIT gets the benefit of not having to deal with multiple wiki instances. The wiki infrastructure management becomes centralized and streamlined while still allowing individual departments/divisions to "run their own wiki instance".
- ConsolidationConsolidation of wiki services offered to multiple organizational units into a single, centrally managed infrastructure can translate to significant cost savings. Hardware, network and IT overheads can be dramatically reduced.
- Performance OptimizationAll domains can be served through a single instance that can be optimized for performance. The centralized instance can be clustered for scalability and high availability ensuring all domains benefit without spending for resources separately. IT can charge-back tenants based on their overall usage of the wiki infrastructure.
- LDAP/SSO IntegrationA multi-tenanted instance of SamePage in the enterprise can integrate seamlessly with LDAP servers and SSO solutions for authentication. Users having access to multiple domains can switch seamlessly from one domain to the other.
- ExtranetsOrganizations can also leverage the multi-tenant architecture of SamePage to offer secure wiki-based extranets for each of their partners, clients or external stakeholders through a single, centralized wiki infrastructure.
